A Life Devoted to Sak Yant
Silas van Gemert (°1977, Vlissingen) left the Netherlands at 17 to travel to Australia. His spiritual quest led him to Thailand, where he lived and worked for 15 years, learning the Thai language and submitting to the discipline of Buddhist monks.
He received the sacred blessing that grants him the right to place Sak Yant tattoos. His spiritual journey also took him to Brazil, Hawaii and Jerusalem.
Today, Silas is Europe's leading Sak Yant master, working from his studio in the heart of Breda, Netherlands.
A Sak Yant is not just a tattoo. It is an ancient spiritual tradition that can change your life. Silas has guided more than 500 people from across Europe through this unique ritual. Every tattoo is one of a kind - tailored to the person, their intention, and the type of protection they seek.

Step 2: Book your flight
Direct flights from Paris CDG/Orly or Lyon to Amsterdam Schiphol. From Schiphol: 1 hour direct train to Breda, no transfers.

In our studio in Breda. Silas van Gemert, one of the few in Europe officially certified by Thai masters, places your Sak Yant with the traditional bamboo needle. Calm, personal, attuned to your intention. No routine - every Sak Yant is unique.

Are there authentic Sak Yant studios in France?
There are tattoo artists in France who offer Sak Yant-inspired designs, but virtually none perform the full spiritual ceremony. Our French clients therefore travel to Breda.
How do I get from Paris to Breda?
Direct flight to Amsterdam Schiphol (1h15), then 1 hour direct train to Breda. From Lyon or Bordeaux there are also direct flights to Schiphol.
Do you communicate in French?
We primarily communicate in Dutch and English, but can also communicate in French via WhatsApp.
Which design do you recommend for beginners?
Popular choices are the Ha Taew (5 lines of protection) and the Gao Yord (9 peak protection).
How long does a session take?
Typically 1.5 to 3 hours. Plan a full day - Breda is a beautiful historic city.
Can I combine it with a visit to Amsterdam?
